Many codes don't have official names — the hobby community has developed its own naming conventions over time. Core Rarities — Found in Most Sets
Base rarity. No holo but features iridescent lamination. Standard back with character stats.
One tier above R. Introduced in NS-09. Back replaced with Goddess Story logo on yellow background — no character stats.
Standard holo and texture finish. The most commonly pulled premium card in most sets.
One tier above SR. Introduced in NS-09. Back replaced with Goddess Story logo on blue background.
Holo, texture, and gold embossing/stamping. A reliable chase card in most standard sets.
Clear/transparent variant of the SSR. Collector-reported rarity seen in select sets.
Premium Rarities — Chase Cards
Custom background with heavy gold embossing, holo, and texture. One of the most recognizable chase rarities in early-to-mid sets.
Replaces PTR in NS-5M07 and later sets. Features a social-media inspired layout design with gold embossing and holo.
Custom background with colored prismatic holo effects. Numbered serialized versions (MR Numbered) also exist in some sets.
Holo, texture, gold embossing, and enamel-like embossing. Introduced in NS-10M04. Numbered LP variants also exist.
Premium chase rarity. High-end finish with distinctive visual treatment varying by set.
Holo, texture, gold and glitter embossing. Designed to pair with another card to form a complete scene. Introduced in NS-10M04.
Simulated autograph or stamp design. Exclusive to 5 Yuan boxes. SZR (Super ZR) variants also exist — characteristics vary by set.
Vector art styling with alternate coloring. Distinctive artistic treatment compared to standard card art.
Transparent/clear card design. Rainbow foiling versions are typically 1 per box in NS-10M04 and earlier.
Stained-glass style artwork design. Introduced in NS-10M05. One of the newer premium visual treatments.
Chase & Extreme Rarities
Highest serialized chase tier. Numbered print run makes these among the rarest cards in any given set.
Characteristics change dramatically between sets. Examples: UV-reactive (5M07, numbered /199), retro artwork (10M04), puzzle cards (5M08 Genshin wedding theme).
Bifold card that opens to reveal a larger image. Introduced in NS-10M05. Physically unique format.
Trifold card format. Even rarer physical format than GP, opening to reveal three connected panels.
Metal redeem card. Seen in NS-10M05. Can be redeemed for exclusive rewards.
Exclusive to the Genki Parade 2025 series. Numbered EXR-01 to EXR-08. One of the rarest cards in that set.
Themed Rarities — Artwork-Defined
Double-sided cards featuring artwork on both the front and back of the card.
Custom background featuring the character's love interest with someone else. Themed around a specific narrative concept popular in anime/manga culture.
Custom background featuring the character's love interest or companion character in the scene.
Custom background featuring the character in a tragic, emotional, or dramatic scene. Exclusive to certain sets including Dream of Desire.
Only available in promotional packs — never pulled from standard booster boxes. Highly sought after due to limited distribution.
Dream of Desire Series — Exclusive Rarities
Premium rarity exclusive to the Dream of Desire adult-art series. Features distinctive artistic treatment.
Premium rarity from the Dream of Desire series. Higher tier than BSR within the set's rarity hierarchy.
Top-tier rarity from the Dream of Desire series. Among the most premium cards in this line.
Collector-tier insert rarity seen in Dream of Desire and select other sets.
